Hi Ms. Erskine. I think it's really awesome that you are doing
this bike trip to raise awareness for celiac disease. I didn't know
about this disease until I researched it when someone told me you
had it last year. I just read your arcticle in the paper and I hope
you get a lot of publicity and donations. Have a lot of fun on your
trip! I'll be keeping track on the website. See you when you get
back!

Hi Regina,
I'm a fellow Mainer with CD too (now living in Boston.) My parents
alerted me to today's article about your trip, and I was thrilled
to read it. I hope it's a great success and I'll be checking your
blog to follow your story. I was diagnosed with CD about 2 weeks
ago, after at least 12 years of symptoms and a previous diagnosis
of IBS. Now that I'm on the GF diet I'm feeling better already.
Thanks for taking the Celiac message on the road.

This is such an inspiration to help build awareness about CD.
I am also a fellow Mainer, and was a health student of yours back
in the 1980"s at Moore Middle School. I now live in Connecticut.
My mother sent the newspaper article to me and gave me a copy of
the informational brouchure which was in her mailbox at work! I
was diagnosed with CD over a year ago. It was very difficult and
continues to be difficult to eat a wheat and gluten free diet! There
are not enough resources out there to help educate people about
the disease. I find that I explain myself at every meal. Little
by little I have been educating people, but this initiative you
have taken to raise awareness is so inspirational! It is about time
someone became a leader in this process. You have a loyal follower
to your cause for action. I would be more than happy to distribute
brouchures and to help raise awareness in Connecticut! I will forward
information on about Coast to Coast for Celiac and will be following
you in your journey. Thank you, and good luck!

Dear Regina,
Thanks so much for what you're doing. I am a Downeast Mainer diagnosed
with celiac 3 years ago. My Dad and brother are also celiac and,
you're right, frustration becomes a daily event! I will follow your
trip and wish you the best of luck and adventure! Thanks again and
know that some of us will be alongside you in spirit.
